The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) cites the increasing demand for advanced practice nurses prepared at the master's degree level.

In fact, the AACN states that four clinical areas for advanced practice nurses (APNs) in high demand include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, and certified registered nurse anesthetists.
